Styles of Embroidery you might not be aware of….

Appliqué

Appliqué is used on simple designs and consists of fabric sewn onto a garment then embroidered around the edge.This style of embroidery is used to make an impact on a garment and  normally covers a large area of a garment as you can see in the picture. This can be a great alternative to solid embroidery stitching as it’s more reasonably priced.  It looks great on team wear, jackets and hoodies .

Inlay Appliqué

Inlay Appliqué  is used on  fabric sewn onto a garment using more of a  complex design than Appliqué.  It can consist of 1, 2 or 3 layers of laser cut fabric sewn onto a garment and then embroidered around the laser cut fabric. Inlay Appliqué is also used for coverage of a large area on a garment. It looks fantastic on team wear, jackets and hoodies.
